escapism

I don’t want to live here anymore. I want to escape California.

Devendra Banhart and Ana Kras. The story goes that she was assigned to photograph him and upon their meeting, within the first five minutes, he proposed. They’ve been together ever since.

Hopeless Romantics.

Over the last couple days, Trish has slowly been declining. The doctors yesterday have the parents the choice to either leave Trish on the special ventilator and see her live a maximum of 2 days, or take her off of it and let her breathe on her own and go when she chooses. There was a debate among the doctors how long she would last without the ventilator.
Yesterday afternoon the family decided they would take her off the ventilator. Trish wanted this. She didn’t want to be on life support and… The family wanted to see her beautiful face in her last moments.
They took the rest of they day with Trish, while a few of us came and loved her into the night.
This morning at 11 am, the doctor and team came into the room full of people who loved her and removed the ventilator and just gave her a feed of oxygen. We sat with Trish as she began to breathe on her own, and slowly slipped into eternity. The doctors assured us she was in no pain. She died so peacefully, surrounded by so much love.
She passed away about 11:30 am, today January 19th, 2013. Thank you so much to everyone who prayed and came to visit.
I love you so much Trish. You were a rockstar, my favorite junk food and HIMYM buddy, and I love you. So happy you are resting at peace.

I know I’m not supposed to take photos in the ICU, but I thought today everyone should see our baby girl.
As of yesterday her vital signs were all over the place. The blood toxicity level was high, high blood pressure, carbon dioxide levels were too high, & her heart rate was extremely high. Yesterday they were certain her heart was going to stop.
Today her vitals are better; more stable. One of the nurses adjusted one of the machines & her carbon dioxide levels is more stable now. However, her heart rate is irregular and very fast. It’s scary. One moment she will have a steady heart beat and the next it will drop and the machines will go off… And then she keeps fighting.
The doctors are saying at this point, every day she is alive is a miracle. They say she is fighting really hard. She is fighting hard, but they are still saying things are not looking well enough for survival. I hope they are wrong.
